tofu balls in kuzu

Raanan's Section!! I'm full...

I wanted sushi. But since she turned vegan on me, it's hard to suggest it. Because sushi with no fish is like... sushi with no egg? So, how can I ask for sushi?... besides, we don't have Nori. And there was already brown rice in the water. I never saw sushi made from brown rice. Could be tasty.... It's not that she doesn't want to eat sushi, or that she said "No Sushi", really... Just my feeling.
I wanted sushi. So i asked for something that you can pick up with your chopsticks, put it in soy sauce and eat. I thought it was clear enough, and that, well, we will make sushi... But, the lady came up with a different idea. Apparently, a winning idea. Tofu fried thingies in thick sauce.
I was, again, in charge of the frying. She is rather afraid of boiling oil. So, i fried this mixture made earlier, a mixture that contains:
  1. Tofu, mashed (I mashed it!)
  2. Carrots, chopped
  3. A little ginger
  4. Some rice powder of some sort (made of Mochi rice)
  5. Water. Just a little.
It was also covered with flour, to make it more... together? Was a nice idea too.
So, after mixing and frying, there were put in a soy kuzu sauce. Kuzu is a sauce thickener. Makes everything be less fluid and more... not fluid. There are a lot of chemical ways too do it, this one is rather better. And organic, of course.
Together with that, we had rice, of course, and Miso soup... Very nice dinner. You should try! :-)
Oh, and i was drinking a funky beer. It's a mixture between beer and lemonade, and, according to the label and the name of the beer, it's made for  people riding bikes! Go figure...
Here, the dinner, almost at the end, along with this beer. It's sweet, and doesn't have a lot of alcohol (1.3% only), so, not a very serious beer...

Weather!
When there is sun, doesn't matter how cold it is outside, the germans like to sit outside. Coz usually, they have none. They love the summer, I am not sure i have until today met a german who actually likes the winter...Snow yes, winter no. So, here is a little story i read a few weeks ago and forgot to tell you guys.
Those three (i think it was three) german kids from hamburg, around 6 to 10 years old, decided one sunny morning, that they are sick and tired of the winter in germany, and that they are moving to africa. So, they packed  everything, a bag with some food and cloths, and headed to the train station. Now, the german trains are "free trains" in a sense that you can go aboard without paying (and then they catch you and you pay a lot), and that's what they did. They got all the way to the main train station in hamburg, and just by luck some police officers caught them before boarding a train. It was probably not a train to africa, but they wanted to get as close as possible...
So, make sure your children like snow if you live in germany :-)
