Soluna brot und oelはベルリンで一番評判のいいパン屋さんだと私は思います。実際、日本の雑誌でも何度か紹介されてるようです。こないだ姉家族がベルリンに来た時、食べ物大好きな姉（姉妹ですからね）は来る前に「このパン屋に行きたい！」とSolunaのリンクを送ってきたほど。そんな姉はなんてラッキーなんでしょう。妹（私ね）がそのパン屋から歩いて１０分くらいのとこに住んでるなんて！

このパン屋さん、１３時くらいに開店するんですが、その開店とともにもう常連さんによる列ができています。みんな焼きたてを求めて買いにくるようです。そんなSolunaのパンはお店にある薪釜で毎日焼かれています。材料はもちろんオーガニックのものにこだわっているのだそう。他のパン屋さんでは買えないような、洗練されたパン（でも素朴なんだなぁ）がここでは買えます。小さいパンがほとんどないので、大きなパン（黒だったり白だったり、ほんとにいろんな種類がある）を欲しいだけ切ってもらうグラム売りです。ケーキも常時最低５種類はあるんじゃないかな。どれもやはりおいしい！ドイツにありがちな甘過ぎなケーキではなく、素材を活かした粉の味もちゃんとするパンとケーキ。調理パン系はおそらく日替わりか季節ごとにあって、秋に食べたZwiebelkuchen（タマネギケーキ）は毎年恒例のようです。直径５０cm以上ありそうな大きなそのケーキは好きな分だけ切ってくれます。タマネギ５０コ以上は使ったんじゃないかと思う程のタマネギの量。その匂いにつられてみんな買ってました。私も。

私がこのパン屋さんがベルリンで一番だと思う理由は、まず、お店の中で作って焼いてる、ということ。他にもたくさんパン屋さんが街中にはあるけど、どこもチェーン展開しているような感じでお店の中で作っているわけではなくて、焼かれたパンが届けられているのです。それから、やっぱりここみたいなパンは他では買えない。パン作ってる人の顔が見えるようなパン。東京のパン屋さんなんかを思い出させます。みんなきっちり修行して自分のパンを作ってる、っていう。

そうそう、ここではパンとケーキ以外にも、チーズやらサラミやらパンと一緒に食べるものも売ってます。そしてオリーブオイルも（Brot und Oelはドイツ語で「パンとオイル」）。パンに塗るペーストも何種類か売っていて、お店の入り口で試食できたりします。時々レジの横にもその試食があってお店の人がどうぞ、なんて言ってくれるその感じも、ドイツっぽくなくて好きです。うん、このパン屋さんのもう一つの良い点はドイツっぽさがないとこ！
（今ラアナンセクションを読んだら、あら！ここにも典型的なベルリン店員さんがいるみたい。私は運良く感じの良い店員さんにあたったみたいです。）

Raanan's section! yei!

So, up until a few weeks ago, i was 100% sure this bakery is called "Brot & Oel". Which means in plain english bread and oil. i was 100% sure, and i always thought this is a silly name. I mean, it's like calling a drugstore "Aspirin" or a Bookstore "Books and CDs".
But i forgave them. coz they are really good. They always have those little samples waiting for you at the entrance (i try not to take them when we buy something small, coz i feel like i didn't buy enough to try the samples), and they have many weird kinds of bread. They are also rather expensive. I am not sure bread is supposed to cost so much, but hey, they are really good! They sometimes have this really funny thick pizza (rie would say it's not a pizza) full of a lot of stuff. And you can buy half a bread. I guess you can also buy a quarter of a bread, but i would feel even more emberresed to buy a quarter bread than just to try the free samples...
So, back to the name thing, their name is Soluna. Not "Brot & Oel". I am not sure what it means, but it's a nice name. And they have a nice website, with funny pictures of long people.
Ah, just one last thing about this place, they are, sometimes, unfriendly. It's not them specifically, it's a "Clerks in Berlin" thing. Clerk in Berlin will not let you just browse, and check out what they have. If you are standing infront of the screen, it means you know what you want. if you don't know, why are you here? So, no! I wanna look! I don't know what i want yet. It takes time. One once shouted at me, coz I didn't even understand she is talking to me. They should learn what customer service is. It's the same in this store. KNOW what you want before, or find the nice clerk. You will know her when you see her :-)
