クロイツベルグを東西に流れる運河があります。Canalです（ドイツ語ではkanal）。ベルリンを流れているほとんどの川がこの運河、人工的に作られた川です。中でもこのクロイツベルグのはお散歩にぴったり。とてもきれいな眺めが続きます。Halleschesstorを出発して西から東に行くとトルコマーケットのある川岸Maybachufer（川岸はドイツ語でUferウファといいます。なになに通りではなく川岸の通りは、なになにUferです）にたどり着きます。マーケットの反対側の岸にはカフェがたくさん並んでいて、これからの季節、どこのテラス席も満席になります。私が初めてベルリンでお茶をしたのがMaybachというカフェで、このカフェがたくさんあるUferの中の１つでした。とても感じのいい落ち着いたカフェです。カフェだけでなく、川岸の芝生の上も人でいっぱいになります。みんな紫外線なんか気にせず、一日中そこで太陽を楽しんでいるんです。私は時々、本を読みに行きます。少し、紫外線が気になります。。

引っ越し先の近くにも運河があるといいなぁと言っていたら、ラアナンがベルリン内だったらmax３０分歩いたらどこにいても運河にぶつかるはず、と教えてくれました。地図を見てみたら、どこにいてもってわけではないけど、引っ越し先の徒歩２０分圏内に運河、ありました。クロイツベルグのくらい雰囲気が良いといいです。いつも公園に行こうかカナルに行こうか迷って、たいがいはカナルに行きます。水のある所というのは、なぜか落ち着きます。

What can i say... Berlin is beautiful when it's sunny. Berlin is beautiful also when it's snowy, but i am starting to understand why they love the sun so much. From time to time it's nice to have a little sun. especially when it's 20 degrees outside. When it's 36, i would wish the sun would go away and that it will snow...
Anyhow, rie wrote about the canal that is floating through the entire city, and also through kreuzberg, where we currently live (not for long!). The canal in Kreuzberg is actually not the Berlin's "Spree", but the "Landwehrtkanal", a hand/made canal connecting Charlottenbug with Tiergarten, kreuzberg and Friedrichshain. It was constructed during the 1850's, for no apparent reason (well, i guess if i'll search really hard i would find something! ). If you want to enjoy this canal, all you need to actually do is to pay 2.10 euros to the local train service, with the U1. Or at least go to the station "Hallesches Tor", which is right in the middle of the canal. Rie really like this station.
I wanted to talk today about the German service and customer support, but i am too frustrated from them at the moment :-). Maybe one day!
