２年程前、このファラフェル屋さんの近くに住んでいながらなぜか一度も試さなかったのです。みんな、ここのはおいしいよーというのに、なぜか試さなかった。油で揚げたものが苦手なこともあるのですが。昨日フムスの話をちらっと書いたせいか、ちょうどお昼時のお腹が空いてる時にお店の近くにいたせいか、今日は無性においしいファラフェルが食べたくなりました。ので行ってきました、ついに。

とても小さなお店です。３人は入るといっぱいになってしまうくらい。おばちゃんが一人できりもりしてるお店です。メニューはファラフェルがもちろんメイン。ピタでくるくるまかれたファラフェル、そこにフムスやハルミ（油で揚げた固めのチーズです）などを加えることもできます。頼むとヴィーガン使用にしてくれます（ソースにヨーグルトを使ってるので）。お店が空いている時ならお皿ものを頼んでも。ご飯付きのヴィーガンプレートがいくつかあります。

さて、私が頼んだのはファラフェルバーガー（上の写真）。一口食べて「わ！おいしっ！」と叫ぶ。おいしいのです、ほんとに。油っぽくないのです。そして中に入ってるソースがおいしい。なんのソースなのか知りませんけど、あの黒っぽいソースがとてもおいしい。そして揚げたナスのトマトソース煮のようなものも入っています。入ってるもの全部の組み合わせがすばらしい。絶妙なのです。ラアナンが頼んだ普通のファラフェルはフムスをトッピングすることができるのですけれど、そのフムスも彼曰くかなりおいしかったそうです。フムスに厳しい彼がおいしいと言うくらなので本当においしかたのでしょう（彼はフムスの国の出身です。そして辛いペーストを入れてたので、辛いのダメな私はそのフムスのお裾分けを断ざるえませんでした。悔しっ。）。揚げ物なのに食べた後に全然もたれなかったのもすごい！むしろもうひとファラフェル食べたいくらいな気持ちにさせてくれました。

これはクロイツベルグで一番おいしいファラフェルに違いない！ベルリンで一番って言いたいとこだけど、ミッテにあるダダ・ファラフェルも相当おいしいらしいので、そこで試してからどっちが私の中で一番か決めよう。ダダはお昼時に長ーい行列ができてたなぁ（それで前回あきらめたのです。並べばよかった）。とにかく、ファラフェルはいい！この素朴なひよこ豆のホクホクした感じがたまらない！また買いに行こう。行列があっても並んで買おう。

After explaining briefly in yesterday's post what falafel is, we went today to the first falafel place i visited in Berlin.
Falafel is Israel's national food. At least we claim so. Much like any other traditional food in Israel, the falafel was... adopted by us. But, when israelies adopt something (also someone, i guess) they make it better. We did that with ice cream (thanks to the italians), we did that with schnitzel (thanks to the germans), and we did that with the falafel (Thanks to the nice arabs. The not-nice ones will never hear me thank them...). We did it also with a lot more, you should one time go to israel and try the local food... This is how you get falafel in israel!
Anyhow, as i said, this place was the first i visited in Berlin, because a good friend of mine, an israeli living here, told me "you have to try this falafel". So i did.
The germans treat falafel (much like hummus) as healthy food. It doesn't matter it's fried (deep fried...), as long as it's natural and "green". They also, for some unknown reason, don't treat it as fast food. Except for one imbiss, they always put the falafel balls in the oil after you order. Falafel should be the fastest food possible. Tak tak, one pita is ready. Again, check israel...
This falafel is wonderful. Really tasty. She even put hummus paste and fresh vegetables. Wonderful. Recommended. The one bad thing about this falafel, is the one bad side of all of the shawarma/falafel places in Berlin. They don't know how to make good pita bread. I don't really get that, but they insist on totally destroying a good dish with a falling/apart bread, which taste like cardboard. I am still waiting for the first place in Berlin i will find with a good pita.
