こないだ行ったヴィーガンショップVeni Vidi Vegiで買った大きいソイミート、その名も「Soja big steaks」を使って、今日は味噌カツを作りました。おいしかった！一緒に買ったヴィーガンモッツァレラを挟んでチーズカツを次回は作ろうと思います。この大判ソイミートはかなり便利。日本だとこういうふうにドンっとしたメイン料理を食べることって少ない気がするけれど、こっちでは当たり前。ラアナンにも当たり前のようで、こういうご飯の時はやっぱり嬉しいみたいです。本物の肉だともっと嬉しいんだろうけど。。

このソイミートの使い方は普通の細切れのと変わりません。ブイヨンかお湯に１０分ほど浸して、水気を絞ってから好きなように味付け、調理をして食べられます。今回は野菜ブイヨンに１０分浸した後に、水気を軽く絞って、味噌、醤油、ニンニク、ショウガで下味をつけて１０分程放置してから、パン粉をつけて焼きました。なんとなく大根おろしを添えてみました。セイタンカツよりも弾力があります。そしてボリュームもやっぱり粉からできてるセイタンと比べると大豆なのでどっしりしています。

この大判ソイミートを作っているメーカーVantastic Foodsは肉の代用品になるものをすごーくたくさん作っています。肉だけではなく、魚、チーズの代用品シリーズもあるみたいです（ツナとかキャビアとか。あ、これでヴィーガン寿司が作れるかも！）。なぜ動物性のものを食べないのか、人それぞれ理由は違うけれど、肉、魚などの味は好きだけどアレルギーやら体質やらで食べられないって人にはすごくいいと思います（私もこのタイプ。時々匂いに誘われるけど、食べた後の胃もたれや動物性の油の重さがダメなのです）。そして、健康のことを考えて動物性食品を少し減らしたいな、という人にはうってつけです。

I have a theory, tell me if you think like me. Anything you can eat, you can cover with breadcrumbs and fry. And it will ALWAYS taste like schnitzel. Or something close to Schnitzel. There are so many ways of making it! amazing. In general it's not the healthiest food there is, but it's always tasty and always welcomed. And this time, it is a vegie-soy-miso schnitzel! Covered with Garsini (Yei!! I used it! ) breadcrumbs.
Remember rie found a new vegie shop? So, this is one of the things she got there. Soy-Big steaks. I wasn't sure why they call it "big steak", but then they were pu in water. And they grow more than double the size. And turned Juicy. This is when we covered them with the breadcrumbs, with the help of water-flour (a tip for you vegie's out there, instead of egg, put water directly in the flour, it will be sticky and won't harm the non-egg texture...).
Afterwards, frying and eating. No deep frying people! there is no need for that. just a small cover of oil on the pan, flip it and be happy.

Snow!!! It's snowing for the last day and a half, and it's all white here. And today, we went by a play-yard, with a lot of snow. And this is what rie did...
